European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) has extended the Part-145 Maintenance Organization Approval of PIA Engineering & Maintenance upto year 2010.

The re-approval audit for Part-145 Maintenance Organization Approval of PIA Engineering & Maintenance was conducted in April 2008. The EASA Part-145 Approval was initially granted in 2004. Till date the Engineering and Maintenance department of National Flag Carrier has successfully been able to maintain the approval by clearing 2 surveillance audits each year. Audit team during the last audit included EASA representative and a representative of French Aviation Authority.

Commitments shown by Engineering Management have played the most significant role in maintenance of the approval along with the hard work put in by employees in every cadre. This endorsement of the quality of workmanship, of work being done in PIA Engineering enables PIA to generate revenue through outside party jobs which has been continually growing since acquiring approval in 2004.
